Task Module

One of the biggest challenges faced by manufacturing companies is maintaining control over the wide variety of actions that need to be carried out (outcomes of meetings, actions resulting from engineering or technological changes, post-complaint activities, inspections, etc.).
In the vast majority of cases, companies rely on unreliable direct communication or task checklists maintained in Excel spreadsheets. Most often, this leads to a situation where each department has its own Excel file—which is, of course, the “most important one”—while other departments “maliciously” fail to keep it up to date. As a result, the organization ends up arguing over which Excel file is the most important.

Another issue, both in direct communication and in Excel spreadsheets, is the lack of evidence that a task has actually been completed.

The final—and probably the most critical—problem are so-called “forgotten actions”. The task-tracking systems mentioned above do not remind those responsible persons that the tasks are still outstanding.

When creating the task management module, we set ourselves the following goals:

  • support for one-time and recurring tasks (e.g. various types of inspections)
  • the ability to group tasks
  • email notifications
  • the possibility for the requester to verify and evaluate effectiveness
  • the ability to report partial progress
  • assigning tasks to individual or a team
  • allowing the task assignee to attach evidence of completed work
